Councilmember Brandon Elefante is sponsoring a transit-oriented development community meeting for ‘Aiea and Pearl City on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Lehua Elementary School’s cafeteria (791 Lehua Avenue, Pearl City). Sign-in begins at 6:00 pm; the meeting will run from 6:30 to 8:30 pm.  Light refreshments will be provided.

The meeting will have the latest proposals for the ‘Aiea-Pearl City area showing which areas will have new, updated zoning.

The Department of Planning and Permitting’s Community Building and Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Administrator, Harrison Rue, will show the community how the areas around the new rail stations will be revitalized with new opportunities for housing and mixed-use development. TOD will enable people to live closer to the rail stations, increase the affordable housing stock, and help landowners to redevelop their parcels.
